Pirates Baseball took a 7-2 defeat on Wednesday when they traveled to Kansas City to take on the KC Royals Scout Team. The Pirates are now 0-3 in scrimmage games this fall. Next, they travel to Missouri S&T on Saturday to take on the Miners.
Offense was hard to come by for the Pirates. Having the best day was sophomore Logan Eickhoff with a 2-4 performance. He also scored one run and had an RBI. The Pirates other three hits in the game came from Nathaniel Bentura, Braedyn Brewer, and Jurden d'Arnault.
Pitching and defense were better for the Pirates. Only one error was committed, but it was a costly one that resulted in three unearned runs in the first inning. Nine Pirate pitchers combined to limit the Scout Team to four earned runs on ten hits.
