NCMC Baseball Sweeps Home Opening Fall Exhibitions

NCMC opened their home slate of fall scrimmages with a pair of wins over Calvary University on Thursday.  The team is now 5-1 this fall with their next action coming on Tuesday, September 16th when they host Indian Hills CC.  First pitch for that doubleheader is set for 1pm.

 

GAME 1: The NCMC Pirates exploded offensively in a 15-3 win over Calvary University, piling up 17 hits at home. Ismael Medina, JP Gonzalez, and Koby Wagers each doubled and drove in runs, while Eduardo Chourio added a triple to spark the attack. Wagers also delivered on the mound, tossing a scoreless inning with a strikeout as part of a dominant bullpen effort that racked up 19 strikeouts. Nine different Pirate pitchers combined to allow just four hits on the win.

 

GAME 2: The NCMC Pirates used a balanced offense and strong pitching to defeat Calvary University 9-3 in the nightcap. Chourio sparked the lineup with two hits, including a triple, while Max Heintz added two hits with a home run and three runs scored. Gabriel DeFily and Luis Rivas each drove in two runs to extend the Pirates' lead. On the mound, the Pirates pitching staff twirled nine innings of three-run ball, highlighted by Jonah Sparks striking out three in a scoreless frame.
