The NCMC Men's Golf team travelled to Maryville, MO on Friday hosting a three-team 18-hole event with Southwestern CC and State Fair CC. held at the par 72 Mozingo Lake Golf Course. The NCMC teams had a great day on the course with the Pirate (A) team finishing T-1st out of five teams with Southwestern CC firing a team score of 289. Kaleb Groomer led the charge on Friday, firing a round of (-3) 69 with nine-hole splits of 35 and 34. Dylan Groomer and Jorge Gomez matched each other with even par rounds of 72. Dylan had an impressive (-3) 33 and on his front nine while Gomez finished strong with a (-4) 32 on his back nine. Alvaro Alegria and Guillermo Gomez shot twin rounds of 76 with Gomez collecting four birdies on the day while Alegria had two.
The NCMC (B) team also had a great day finishing in 3rd place posting a team score of 301 led by a 73 from Lucas Schussler. Schussler recorded five birdies on the day and finished with nine-hole splits of 37 and even par 36. Grant Leamer shot 74 for the Pirates collecting fourteen pars on the day. Lucas Viertaler and Riley Gott shot twin 18-hole rounds of 77 with Gott parring 13/18 holes on the golf course while Viertaler had four birdies and nine-hole splits of 41-36.
The Pirate Men and also NCMC Women's Golf will be in action next when they travel back to Maryville, MO to compete in the Graceland Spring Invitational on March 27th-28th. Shotgun start from Mozingo Lake Golf Course begins at 12:00 P.M.
