The NCMC Women's Golf team battled tough weather conditions over the weekend at the Graceland University Spring Invitational, a tournament consisting of solid NAIA competition and Division 1 NJCAA powerhouse Indian Hills Community College who won the team portion of the event. The Trio of Kennady George, Courtney Crose and Casey Phillips had a good event in the loaded tournament field with George leading the way on Day 1 shooting a 98 with nine-hole splits of 48-50. George improved that mark in the final round, posting a 97 and collecting five Pars on the day. Her 36-hole mark of 195 finished 30th on the individual leaderboard in the 59-player tournament field. Courtney Crose posted a Day 1 mark of 115 and improved that mark by 14 shots on Day 2 for a score of 101 and moving up seven spots on the individual leaderboard during the final round. The 36-hole tally of 215 finished Crose T45th for the event. Casey Phillips finished T49th at the Invitational posting a 110 on Friday collecting three Pars and 113 on Saturday for a 36-hole score of 223.
The NCMC Women's Golf team will be in action next when they compete in the Peru State Spring Invitational on April 10th & 11th held at Table Creek Golf Course in Nebraska City, NE. Shotgun start for the Pirate Women both days begin at 10:00 A.M.
