NCMC Women’s Golf Competes In Midwest District, George Advances To National Tournament

The NCMC Women's Golf traveled to Maryville, MO on Monday and Tuesday to compete in the NJCAA Division I Midwest District held at Mozingo Lake Golf Course. 

 

The 36-hole event was comprised District foes Indian Hills Community College and Iowa Western CC along with Crowder College in Region 16 action. Kennady George, Courtney Crose and Casey Phillips also earned 1st Team All Region 16 honors at the tournament. 

 

Kennady George led the Women at the event firing a Round One score of 93 with nine-hole splits of 46-47 and following it in the final round with an 18-hole score of 97. George clinched an individual spot to the NJCAA Division I National Tournament and became the first Pirate Women's golfer to qualify since 2019.  

 

Courtney Crose shot a 36-hole total of 207 to earn 1st Team All-Region status after shooting rounds of 103-104. Crose recorded three Pars on Monday and two Pars on Tuesday. Casey Phillips was right behind Crose with a 36-hole score of 210. Phillips posted an opening round of 113 but rebounded well and improved her round one scoring by 16 strokes in the final round with a score of 97 with nine-hole splits of 48-49. 

 

Kennady George, the lone National Tournament Qualifier for NCMC will now head to the NJCAA Division I National Championship on May 11th-14th held at Oakwood Country Club in Coal Valley, IL. Tee times for the National Tournament will start off of Holes #1 & #10 beginning at 8:00 A.M.
