The Lady Pirates delivered one of their most complete performances of the season Monday night, rolling to a 97-69 victory over Highland Community College - Kansas at home.
North Central Missouri College shot an efficient 48.1 percent from the field and knocked down 11 three-pointers, while dominating the glass 48-44 and forcing 18 turnovers defensively.
Peyton Johnson came off the bench and caught fire from beyond the arc, pouring in a game-high 20 points on 6-of-11 shooting from three-point range. Her perimeter shooting helped the Pirates stretch the lead early and never look back.
In the starting lineup, Honor Mannings was nearly flawless, finishing 8-of-8 from the field for 17 points while adding four rebounds and two assists in just 22 minutes. Liz Oliver matched her with 17 points of her own, attacking inside and converting 5-of-8 at the free throw line to go along with five rebounds.
Sidney Aeschliman added 11 points and six rebounds, connecting on three triples, while Tailer Morrison contributed eight points, four rebounds, and two blocks to anchor the interior defense. Keylie Beane filled the stat sheet with five rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
The Lady Pirates' bench provided a major spark. Addilyn Henke dished out eight assists in 18 minutes to orchestrate the offense, while Lexi Burns added eight points. Delaney Richards controlled the paint with six rebounds, including five on the offensive end, and Laney Uchtman chipped in five points.
NCMC's balanced attack, defensive pressure (eight steals), and 19 offensive rebounds proved too much for Highland, as the Lady Pirates pulled away decisively in the second half to secure the 28-point win.
